Kirk Franklin gives insight into his new album, Long Live Love

Gospel singer Kirk Franklin gave fans further insight into his latest album, Long Live Love, in an interview with The Breakfast Club on Tuesday, 4 June 2019.

The singer shared a post on Instagram on Monday, 3 June 2019, which notified fans about the tell-all interview, scheduled to take place the next day. He captioned the post with, “Family tomorrow come with me to The Breakfast Club where I talk God, culture, and the new album LONG LIVE LOVE!”. He followed with a post stating, “New music is just the appetizer, the love for Jesus is the main course”.

The singer reiterated his faith and messages to God in the interview and expressed that the album contained his inner thoughts about the Gospel. He stated that the name of the album, Long Live Love, was inspired by the current climate change experienced by the public. Kirk Franklin added that Christians appear to lack empathy for others and fail to understand that the creator of love is challenging believers to learn how to love people that are not always the most loveable.

He went on to say that the goal of the album was to “make God fresh” again. He attempts to make his music appealing to all, not just Christians. The ten-track album was released on Friday, 31 May 2019, and includes various genres such as hip-hop and R&B, whilst keeping the power of God consistent.

Some of the pre-released singles from the album included Love Theory, Ok and Just For Me, which have all proven to be fan favourites.
