After the 15 May deadline, WhatsApp users who do not acknowledge the revised terms and conditions will not be able to receive or send messages until they do so.
It will list their account as “inactive” And after 120 days, inactive accounts can be deleted.
For “a short while” calls and alerts would still work, however, TechCrunch said, possibly just a “few weeks”
The update was announced by WhatsApp in January.
Among several people, there was a backlash who claimed it meant that the company was preparing to change the amount of data it exchanged with its parent company, Facebook.
This was not the case later, it explained – the update is simply aimed at encouraging companies to make payments.
