Mary Jane Preps For New Single “Otuekong”

The south-eastern part of Nigeria is continuously caving under the influence of the name of Jesus and one of the vessels proclaiming the mightiness of the name all over the region and beyond is Gospel music minister MaryJane Nweke.

Based in Port Harcourt, the fifth most populous city in Nigeria, her song “Doer of Good Things,” off the album “Satisfied” was strong enough to penetrate the integral of the state, earning her several ministrations, from podiums to altars – even state functions.

Her song “Jesus Never Fails” which featured the sensational Mercy Chinwo shot her listenership up to an average of +500,000 on Boomplay. She was also enlisted on several playlists on a number of streaming platforms. Other songs which are doing great numbers include “Same God” and the more recent “What More.”

MaryJane is set to release a new single including a complimenting video on the 23rd of June, 2023. The song titled “Otuekong” directly translates “Great Warrior” from the Ibibio dialect of the Akwa-Ibom people of the south-south of Nigeria.

MaryJane Nweke, also known as the Golden Voice is hyped as she looks forward to this release. The song was recorded at Rocktown Studio while the video was shot and directed by Jesus Filmworks.

MaryJane is known for her heartfelt eulogies of God and traditional folk praise songs. While “Otuekong” is no different in style, the rendition is powerfully memorable with its sing-along melody. This is bound to become a regular go-to song on Sunday morning praise and worship session – a delight for the worship leader.
