Verse Study: Romans 12:2
“And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.” – Romans 12:2
We are daily bombarded by information from the world around us in various forms such as music, movies, news, social media photos, video reels, Billboards, posters, etc and a lot of these are negative to our Christian faith and when you take all these in, you gradually become influenced by the world and its ways, it pulls you away from God, making you worldly. The scripture advises us to not be conformed to this negative information, to stay away from them, instead renew your mind so you can know God’s good, acceptable and perfect will. This goes to say that if we don’t renew our mind, or if we are conformed to this world, we won’t know God’s will for our lives but we will be swayed by the world’s system.
How do we renew our mind? It’s by taking in God’s word, reading and meditation on it daily that our minds get renewed. The results is we will become sensitive to know what God’s will for our lives and to follow Him.
ACTION: Take steps to avoid information that will weaken your faith or feed your flesh. These maybe negative movies, news, reels, online photos and videos, etc. Instead study God’s word daily and focus of God.
PRAYER: Father I thank you for loving me, my mind is stayed on your word, in it will I meditate and stay so that I may know your good, acceptable and perfect will for my life. Thank you Lord. Amen.
